Three Easy Things to Do

One of the marketers on the team attended a web seminar recently titled “An Intro to the Art of Social Media Marketing” put on by Duct Tape Marketing and took away some great action items that may help you get started in your own social media marketing.

You may find you're great at setting up profiles, but what next? You don’t want to be a spammer and scare people away from your business, so perhaps you just sit back and “hope” that since you built it, they will come. Unfortunately, this is not the case. There are 3 main action items that if you’re not doing, you should start today!

1.       Direct people to your website – Seem simple enough? Find any excuse to push them to your website for more information.

2.       Create a “Lead Capture Box” on your Social Network Pages – Some people will land on your page, think it’s interesting, intend to come back for more information, but forget. This is your chance to get their information so you can contact them. Offer something compelling like “sign up for our free monthly newsletter with marketing tips and tricks to expand your business”. Capture their name and email address, then begin to nurture that relationship.

3.       Set up a “Drip” Email System – Visit www.icontact.com or www.mailchimp.com to set up a system of emails you can create to send out to your prospects. They now say it takes 5 or more touches in order to turn a cold lead into a warm one. That’s a lot of emails to multiple people! This website will help you stay on top of these in order to close those deals.
