The "Way Back Machine"

Have you gone through so many revisions of your website you can’t remember what it used to look like? Look no further because you can visit www.archive.org to see the progression of your website! This great internet archive allows you to use their "Way Back Machine". Simply type in your website address and click on the fun “Take Me Back” button. Once you click that button you will get a columned list of links you can then click on by year to see what your website looked like at that point in time (one thing to note is if a website is less than 2 years old, it may not be archived yet).

When you click on one of these old links it may not be able to give you every page that you had on your website at that point, but it will give you a good look at what your website looked like at that point in time.  Not only is it very fun to walk down memory lane, it can be very useful as you get ready to make changes to your current website. Take a look at the past to see what worked, what didn’t and perhaps you might find that there is something from the past you want to re-incorporate in your current site!  Have fun looking up all of your favorite sites, or maybe a competitor or two, on the Way Back Machine.
