Let me state publicly that I think the recent decision to drop the Technet subscription is an extremely bad one. While Microsoft does do external testing of security updates to ensure their quality, each deployment is unique enough to require hands on testing in one's own environment. As a result the technet subscription served a much valuable need in providing long term test licenses that could be used to test updates before deployment.
In addition the cutting back of guaranteed technet support forums, the loss of two support incidents included as a benefit of the technet subscription means you are really cutting back on benefits that were valuable to your IT pro community.
I don't think you realize the impact of cutting this program will have on this company. I'm seeing many people consider that you are pushing the ITpro community out and only focusing on the cloud developer.
I realize you need to make some drastic moves to become the company you want to be. I just think this move is a bad one and will seriously impact your business and push people to consider alternative non Microsoft solutions.
