Networking hardware manufacturer TRENDnet has announced general availability of its 16-Port Gigabit Web Smart PoE+ Switch (Model TPE-1620WS).
The managed PoE+ switch sports a sturdy metal rack-mountable enclosure. Its 16 Gigabit PoE+ ports and two shared SFP slots provide for the automatic supply of PoE+ (up to 30 Watts) or PoE (up to 15 Watts) power to connected devices.
The TPE-1620WS offers a litany of security protocols, including ACL, SSL, MAC/port filtering, 802.1X, and TACACS+ as well as RADIUS support-layered security controls.
The 16-Port Gigabit Web Smart PoE+ Switch is IPv6 ready, with IPv6 support. Embedded traffic management technology includes 802.3ad link aggregation, Asymmetric VLAN, 802.1Q VLAN, Voice VLAN, GVRP, 802.1p Class of Service (CoS), and QoS queue scheduling.
Traffic comparison charts, error group charts, and a cable diagnostic test aides in rapid troubleshooting. RMON, SNMP, SNMP Trap, and Port Mirroring support administrator monitoring solutions.
The switch also features TRENDnet’s GREENnet technology, which powers down ports when not in use.
The TPE-1620WS is currently available from online and retail partners. It carries a MSRP of $529.99.
