Networking hardware brand TRENDnet has expand its PoE switch portfolio with the launch of the 10-Port Gigabit Web Smart PoE+ Switch (Model TPE-1020WS).
This sturdy, metal, rack-mountable switch is quiet due to its fanless design. According to TRENDnet director Sonny Su, this is just one benefit. “The TPE-1020WS is packed full of features and well suited for a variety of SMB network needs,” he says.
It features eight Gigabit PoE+ ports, which automatically supplies PoE+ (up to 30 Watts) and PoE (up to 15 Watts) power to connected devices. Two Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports are shared with two SFP slots. TRENDnet’s energy-saving GREENnet technology powers down ports when not in use.
The TPE-1020WS is IPv6 ready, with full IPv6 support. Embedded traffic management technology includes:
- 802.3ad Link Aggregation
- Asymmetric VLAN
- 802.1Q VLAN
- Voice VLAN
- 802.1p Class of Service (CoS)
- QoS Queue Scheduling
Security protocols including ACL, SSL, MAC/port filtering, 802.1X, TACACS+, and RADIUS support layered security controls. Real-time traffic comparison charts, error group charts, and a cable diagnostic test aides in troubleshooting. RMON, SNMP, SNMP Trap, and Port Mirroring support administrator monitoring solutions.
The TPE-1020WS is offered with a three-year limited warranty. It is currently available from online and retail partners, and it carries a MSRP of $359.99.
