SpiffSearch.com‘s founder Parag Humbad knows a thing or two about not leaving money on the table. In fact, he’s been helping channel resellers do just that for the past year with SpiffSearch, a new(ish) service that makes it easy to deal with vendor incentive programs, which, as most channel resellers know, can almost be a full time job in and of itself.
I managed to grab a short interview with Parag at a recent event so he could explain in his own words what SpiffSeach is and how it serves the channel. Give it a look.
I still had more questions than answers about SpiffSearch after the interview, so I hit Parag up later for a full demo to get a better idea about how SpiffSearch works and how valuable it really might be to nearly every ChannelPro-SMB reader. It turns out it’s even better than I originally thought.
How SpiffSearch Works
There are three levels to dealing with a vendor incentive program. Discovering what spiffs are available, figuring out which one’s you’ve earned, and actually making the claim. SpiffSearch deals with with the first two levels; the easy part is actually making the claim.
Figuring out what spiffs you qualify for based on your sales is the most time-intensive part of dealing with spiff programs. If you were only selling one brand it may not be so bad, but how can one reseller effectively figure out what spiffs they’ve earned across 10 or more vendor programs simultaneously?
SpiffSearch takes on the tough job of parsing your sales data and comparing it against current incentive programs. All you have to do is generate a sales report, send it to SpiffSearch, and the company will give you a breakdown of spiffs you qualify for. Odds are you’ll qualify for spiffs you wouldn’t have otherwise known about, and that can be serious money depending on your sales volume.
Armed with the knowledge of what money is on the table, you simply log into the vendor’s site and make the claim as you normally would. SpiffSearch helps you keep a record of open spiffs, making it easy to track what’s been claimed and what hasn’t.
There’s also an excellent search tool to help you find current incentives that you could be out selling! Being able to search across all manufacturer programs in one place is far more convenient than visiting each vendor’s site individually.
Best of all, SpiffSearch is affordable enough for any channel reseller to use. The company prices its services as a ridiculously low monthly fee (I don’t want to give pricing here, but contact SpiffSearch and I’m sure you’ll agree with me) instead of a percentage cut of your spiffs, and also provides additional discounts for larger teams. Considering it could help you claim thousands in spiffs you’d otherwise miss and regain hours of your life looking through sales reports, it’s well worth the cost.
I’ve been so impressed with what SpiffSearch is doing for the channel that we’ve teamed up with the company to offer our ChannelPro Network members a bonus.
