Readers of this blog are well aware of the influence the IT channel is starting to have over the business landscape. However, it would seem that this fact is also not lost on IT executives and before long, technology solutions could be shaping the future of the corporate world.
According to a new study from IBM entitled "The Customer-Activated Enterprise," technology will play a major role in how organizations operate and it will be a leading factor in the decision-making process. This means more than just hardware, and includes social, mobile and digital networks. The report features the responses from over 4,000 IT and business executives.
"For them, technology is not just part of the infrastructure needed to execute a business strategy. It is what makes entirely new strategies possible," the study said.
The numbers show that executives are putting technology among the most significant external pressures that will shape business decisions. This has been a significant shift over the last 10 years, as in 2004 the priority was having employees with people skills. That then switched to macro-economic and market factors before technology took the top spot this year.
The tech influence will take on many forms, including customer touchpoints across physical and digital locations, social media, digital supply chain and a network workforce with the right skill set.
For organizations that do not have a strong tech background, investing in future IT solutions can be complicated. This is why VARs and MSPs have become valuable assets. VAR Staffing can help any organization implement the impactful talent that the current future technology marketplace requires.
