Storage virtualization software developer DataCore Software and Hyve Solutions, a division of distributor SYNNEX Corp., have launched joint storage appliances. The high-performance appliances are powered by DataCore’s SANsymphony-V storage virtualization platform, Emulex LightPulse 8Gb Fibre Channel (8GFC) Host Bus Adapters (HBAs), and Fusion-io flash memory platforms.
“SMBs that want to virtualize their mission-critical applications are looking for the superior performance and reliability that these purpose-built appliances offer,” says Carlos M. Carreras, DataCore’s vice president of alliances and business development. “The combination of Hyve Solutions’ expertise and its ability to combine Fusion-io, Emulex, and DataCore technologies into affordable, high-performance storage appliances greatly expands the available market for value-added resellers.”
Designed by Hyve Solutions and made available through SYNNEX’s distribution arm, the storage appliances come in a choice of platforms built with either Dell, HP, or Supermicro servers. The powerful combination of DataCore’s performance-optimizing storage virtualization platform, high-performance Fusion-io flash memory, and Emulex LightPulse 8GFC HBAs is designed to improve the overall performance of Tier 1 software applications.
“Hyve Solutions works closely with our best-in-class technology partners to create comprehensive turn-key solutions tailored to our customers’ workloads and physical environments,” says Steve Ichinaga, Hyve Solutions’ senior vice president and general manager. “Our storage appliances are easy to implement and manage. And with our collaboration with DataCore, Emulex and Fusion-io, they can meet the most demanding needs of today’s data-intensive environments.”
