A few months back, we were talking up different types of security cameras that are easy to set up at home. Now, D-Link is adding another affordable option. The company’s newest mydlink-enabled Pan & Tilt Day/Night Camera is now shipping.
The new camera, also known as the DCS-5010L, includes a 66-degree horizontal field of view, a 340-degree pan and a 120-degree tilt range. It’s designed with an IR Cut Filter, which boasts better color accuracy during the day. It can also switch to infrared at night, with built-in IR LEDs for viewing up to 26 feet in pitch-dark environments.
That mydlink support means that you can view real-time streaming video from the camera using pretty much any web-enabled device, including a PC or laptop, as well as iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
The DCS-5010L also has Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), video up to 30 frames per second, and H.264 video compression technology. Other features include motion detection alerts, night vision, and a 4x digital zoom.
“Our newest Pan & Tilt Camera provides the performance and features of a professional home or small business surveillance solution at a fraction of the cost,” said Daniel Kelley, D-Link’s VP of marketing. “The combination of the pan/tilt functionality, color accuracy, motion detection alerting, night vision, and zoom, as well as remote viewing through our mydlink apps and portal, gives consumers and small businesses alike the most bang for their buck when compared to other security solutions.”
D-Link is selling the DCS-5010L now, with an MSRP of $99.99.
