Acer just started cranking out the latest for the Predator line—and it’s got a little something for everyone. The Predator AG3-605 Series of desktops can do games, movies, great audio, and even be productive on occasion. It’s also available in a range of configurations, which are now shipping.
Each one comes packing Environmental Audio Extensions (EAX), which is a crop of audio technologies designed to deliver the ultimate in sound effects. This suite is something that’s been cooked up by Creative Technology, so we know it has to be good. Other audio features include Sound Blaster Cinema for playback and embedded HD audio with 5.1-channel surround sound.
All Predator AG3-605 models also have a headset cradle, so you can hang those headphones every once in a while.
To make the system super fast, Acer has included up to 32GB DDR3 of dual-channel memory, up to a fourth generation Intel Core i7 processor, and Intel Turbo Boost Technology. Each one also has NVIDIA graphics and an SSD up to a 120GB.
Movie geeks can opt for a Blu-ray drive, which is a nice perk considering how you can hook the entire thing to an HDTV via the desktop’s HDMI port. Other features include Bluetooth and WiFi support, as well as audio jacks, an SD card reader, four USB 2.0 ports, and four USB 3.0 ports. It’s also got a nice handle on the backside, so it can travel.
“Our new Predator AG3-605 Series offers a range of models to suit various power and budget requirements for those needing a system for games and other multimedia pursuits,” says Frank Chang, director of desktop product management for Acer America. “Outfitted with fantastic audio technology and Intel’s fourth generation processors, these desktops give gamers and multimedia enthusiasts a robust system for enjoying the latest mainstream games, music and movies. Plus, the inclusion of solid state drives in select models adds the extra convenience of storing the PC’s current state, so users can pick up where they left off with ease.”
You can stop drooling and start buying now. Acer has the Predator AG3-605 Series of desktops available with a starting price of $999.99.
