Forthcoming changes to the healthcare laws, along with continued incentives for modernizing healthcare records, are leading many VARs to invest more heavily in the healthcare vertical. D&H Distributing is hoping to lure some those VAR partners to its first virtual trade event of 2011.
The Harrisburg, Pa.-based distributor is hosting a virtual event Feb. 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., themed “Healthcare IT Infrastructure: Your Prescription for Success.” The goal of the virtual event is to “help define the needs of smaller healthcare network environments” and to “teach resellers how to meet those needs with the right SMB solutions,” according to D&H.
“Our partners work mostly with independent practitioners and smaller local offices, which have different needs than those of giant healthcare systems,” says Mary Campbell, D&H’s vice president of marketing. “There’s not enough instruction out there on how to sell to the local practitioner … If D&H provides an easy way to deliver this knowledge, the solution provider has a better shot at cornering some of the business generated by these Federal mandates.”
The virtual trade show will feature a keynote from D&H’s own Bill Hersch, solutions specialist, and interactive seminars led by representatives from Cisco, gloStream—D&H recently entered into a distribution agreement with gloStream—HP, and Microsoft.
In addition to the main seminars, the virtual event will include “networking lounge” that will provide partners the ability to chat with other channel pros as well as representatives from such solutions providers as Intel, Buffalo, Microsoft, HP, Crucial, Epson, Kofax, and GreatCall.
The virtual event is free to D&H partners. Attendees will also be entered to win various prizes.
