Emerson Network Power Announces SmartDesign Infrastructure

Emerson Network Power, a critical infrastructure provider, has announced the SmartDesign infrastructure. This approach simplifies the complex environment of data centers and leverages industry best practices for improving data center infrastructure performance.

The SmartDesign infrastructure extends the benefits of Emerson Smart Solutions into data centers requiring room-scale power and cooling configurations. Features include:

  • Maximize the return air temperature at the cooling units to improve capacity and efficiency
  • Match cooling capacity with IT loads
  • Utilize cooling designs that reduce energy consumption
  • Select the power system that optimizes your availability and efficiency
  • Design for flexibility using scalable architecture for minimized footprint
  • Enable performance-enhancing data center infrastructure management, monitoring, and control
  • Leverage local data center design expertise and technical assistance

Emerson Network Power has developed reference designs to show examples of multiple infrastructure technologies in various arrangements. Each reference design includes operating expenditure (OPex), total cost of ownership (TCP), and power usage effective metrics (PUE) along with specifying equipment.
