West Coast Technology Show to Feature a ‘Go Green' Area

D&H Distributing expects as many as 600 VARs and 60 manufacturers to attend its March event in Industry Hills, Calif.

D&H Distributing will hold its 2010 West Coast Technology event on Thursday, March 4 at the Palms Hotel and Conference Center in Industry Hills, Calif.

The show, according to D&H will include a "Go Green" aisle in which approximately ten vendors will spotlight as many as 40 ecologically-conservative products and solutions. Although vendors are still being assembled for this section, in a press release to EH Publishing, D&H says it is considering the inclusion of such products as energy-saving notebooks, low-energy hard drives, e-readers, "green" printers, document imaging equipment, and more.

The Green exhibit was conceived as a complement to D&H's ongoing Earth Day 40th Anniversary Promotion, which runs until April 16.

"We expect the Go Green Aisle to really get VARs motivated," says D&H vice president of marketing Mary Campbell. She adds that the distributor is "providing a framework of incentives and product knowledge that can help resellers get out there and market these solutions."

In Attendance
The 2010 West Coast Technology Event will include seminars hosted by industry pros from such OEMs as Cisco, Microsoft, Intel, and HP. Nearly 600 reseller attendees and approximately 60 manufacturers are predicted to attend.

Beyond the manufacturers mentioned attending vendors include Acer, Kodak, Linksys, Netgear, NVidia, Ricoh, Samsung, Seagate, Symantec, ViewSonic, and Western Digital. D&H will also hosts experts from the field in its Server Solutions booth.

One lucky show attendee will win the so-called "Passport" Prize of the day, according to D&H. It's a gas-saving Vespa S 150 scooter (or similar model) with an approximate value of more than $4,000.  In order to qualify for the Vespa prize, the distributor says, attendees must visit all the vendors in the Go Green Aisle.  Other prizes will be awarded during the event, too, including a Lenovo IdeaPad Y550 notebook and an IdeaPad S10 netbook.

Registration for the event is free to D&H customers. The show itself will begin at 9 a.m. The first of four seminars will start at 1:30 p.m. The exhibit floor will open at 4 p.m.
