The Bankers Life Fieldhouse 50-foot video board went blue during the Indiana Pacers win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
No matter how well it’s installed, mistakes can happen on some of the world’s biggest stages.

Sometimes, even the best companies in the business have bad nights.
We’re not exactly sure what happened to the Bankers Life Fieldhouse video board one Wednesday night during the Indiana Pacers win against the Minnesota Timberwolves, but we know this isn’t what ANC Sports had in mind when it installed the 50-foot center-hung behemoth this summer.
It’s certainly not the first time a scoreboard has malfunctioned, and won’t be the last. But it can safely be called the biggest (at least in terms of size) flub of its kind, and that’s purely because the board itself is among the largest of its kind, with the Cowboys Stadium monstrosity still the standard-bearer.
We’re surprised this technological glitch hasn’t gotten more play on national sports highlight shows, but certainly we can’t point any fingers at ANC or even the Pacers staff and say who’s to blame for what happened.
Here’s a roundup of some of the other digital signage screw-ups.
Here’s an update from ANC Sports on that malfunction:
“During halftime of that Pacers game ANC experienced a hardware failure in the video server that feeds the sideline video screens at Bankers Life Fieldhouse,” says Jerry Cifarelli, president and chief executive officer of ANC Sports, in a statement. “The resulting Windows error message should not have been fed out to the video screens. Additional fail-safe measures are being implemented so that this will not happen again.”
